Preschool Camping Props!

Tuesday, June 19, 2012 No comments
Today we set up a campsite in our classroom! We made a fort/tent out of blankets, chairs, and tables! We also learned campfire songs and sat around our "campfire" with the lights turned off! (It would be cool to put a light under the campfire to make it glow). We also made marshmellows on a stick with sticks, cotton balls, and glue!

Cute craft my Preschoolers did today! We made paper plate turtles to go along with our animal theme. This craft is pretty easy and they loved it!

Puffy Paint!

Mix together equal parts water, flour, and salt. Add food coloring... and you get puffy, sparkly paint! We put ours into a squeeze bottle and the kids loved making various designs! It also dries quickly so they could take them home right away!

Mixing together powdered tempera paint and LOTS of water and then put it into spray bottles! (Test them to make sure the color is bright enough) We took this project outside to save the clean-up and enjoy the beautiful day!

Painting with tops!

Monday, June 4, 2012 No comments
Today in my Preschool class we got a little creative with our painting! We took some plastic tops, dipped them in paint, and then twirled them on paper! It made really cool designs and the kids couldn't stop laughing and squealing! This activity was so much fun! It helped the children work on their fine motor skills and many of them learned a new skill! I don't know who had more fun doing this -- the kids or me!

Slime!

My preschoolers looovee this slime! It's solid and powdery.. then melts in your hand! You need to play around with the consistancy to get it sort of hard. But the basic recipe is:

2 cups cornstarch
3 cups water
a little food coloring if you wish!
